About Us:

Integrity Home Health Care was established in 2003 by a Registered Nurse. It was originally known as Integrity Individual Care. In 2007, Tammy Tarsa, RN, BSN, was hired by Integrity to provide nursing care to their home health clients. Tammy had begun her nursing career in 2000 and had worked in the maternity ward at Munson Hospital and as a guide at the Montessori Children’s House in Traverse City prior to joining Integrity. When Integrity’s owner decided to sell the business she approached Tammy, and in 2008 Tammy purchased the company. She changed the business name to Integrity Home Health Care to better distinguish the company’s mission in our community.

Integrity is involved in our community as a sponsor and supporter of schools, sport teams, Senior Citizen events, the National Cherry Festival, and multiple other community organizations. In May, 2011, Integrity received the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award.

Greetings!

Bay Area Senior Advocates (BASA) was founded in 1993 to form a networking group that would bring providers of services to seniors together to increase cooperation, collaboration, and to identify opportunities to use our collective resources to better serve the seniors in our communities.
Membership today includes over eighty (80) organizations serving seniors including governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses and associations.

Need and Project Description

Working with regional nonprofit and governmental agencies, BASA identified seven issues impacting the quality of life for seniors in our region – housing, transportation, health and wellness, Medicare/Medicaid, abuse and exploitation, connection to community, and long-term care. BASA members created the Senior Expo to provide information and education to seniors, families and caregivers on all of these topics.

Now in its 9th year, attendance at the Expo has increased from just 75 to over 1,200 attendees with 126 exhibitors from a wide range of governmental, nonprofit, and business organizations.

One of our objectives for 2013 is to increase attendance and reach out to populations who may not have participated in prior years. We believe this Expo would provide an excellent opportunity for your members. Additionally, we need to insure the safety of our seniors by providing transportation from parking areas and facilities to the door. We want to offer prize opportunities, and increase promotion and advertising to insure that seniors across the region who could benefit from the information and experience of the day are aware of the opportunity Senior Expo provides.

The event is free to attendees and includes lunch. All proceeds generated in excess of costs are donated to local organizations for direct support of seniors. All costs to put on the Expo must be covered by sponsorship and booth fees. Last year, over $10,000 was donated for senior support, but more importantly, hundreds of seniors and their families gained valuable information to assist them as they age.
